Lion House + Exhibit
The new Lion and Hyena exhibit is the second exhibit in the African extension of the Turtle Back Zoo. Sited prominently overlooking the African extension, the new building and exhibit was designed around a theme idea of an ancient, long abandoned North African castle ruin that has since been made home by a Lion pride. The Lion crest, the official seal of the County, is personified above the grand entrance of the castle and in the fountain pool. The exhibit allows for a separate, independent exterior exhibit enclosure for Hyenas while sharing a common house with the Lion. The den interior incorporates many options for animal rotation and flexibility. FPA Consulting Engineers.
